anlässlich der Ausstellung:
CREATING COMMON GOOD
KUNST HAUS WIEN

Sich aktuellen gesellschaftspolitischen Fragen zu stellen, bedeutet, sich ein Bild zu machen.
Genaues Hinschauen ist auch die Voraussetzung für die Beteiligung am Diskurs zur Definition
des Begriffs 'Gemeinwohl', der permanent neu verhandelt wird.
Die Konditionierung des Blicks etabliert eine Deutungshoheit, die das Einmischen in `fremde´ Angelegenheiten erschwert oder gänzlich unterbinden will.

"Gehen Sie weiter, hier gibt es nichts zu sehen."

Diese Aussage wurde BesucherInnen am Abend der Eröffnung von der Ausstellungsaufsicht ins
Ohr geflüstert.

on the occasion of the exhibition:
CREATING COMMON GOOD
KUNST HAUS WIEN

Taking a position on current sociopolitical issues involves having a long hard look.
Close scrutiny is also required if one is to engage in the discourse on the definition of the 'common good', a term that is subject to constant renegotiation.
The conditioning of the eye establishes an interpretational power whose authority
hampers any attempt to intervene in the affairs of ‘others’ or seeks to prevent it outright.

"Move along. Nothing to see here."

This message was whispered in the ears of visitors attending the opening night by the security guards of the exhibition.
